The Atmosphere Observing System

[22-Oct-2021] The Atmosphere Observing System (AOS) is building an observing system designed to meet society's needs. AOS is developing a polar-orbiting satellite. But that's not all! Two satellites in an inclined orbit are also being developed.
AOS is spearheaded by NASA in partnership with space agencies around the globe, including Japan, France, Germany, and Canada.
While satellites observe high above the atmosphere, AOS is also planning measurements closer to home. Instrumented aircraft will collect data at various heights to provide a more complete picture of climate and how it is changing.
